      ***Board Meeting***

The “Just Desserts” Board Meeting was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2005.
Present: Ron Peterson, Lois Keegan, Dan & Diane Turcovsky, Laura Butler, Donna Bender, Donna Sabol, Greg Lilly, and John Augustine.
Menu: Veggie Pizza, coconut creme pie, dutch apple pie, peanut butter pie, meringue cookies, and chocolate torte cake.
A letter was sent to Yvonne May about needing a dive with a club member before she could become a member herself.
The Treasure Dive Prize list was reviewed and a new list of prizes will be available soon.
All current deposits for the Morehead trip were reviewed.
Discussed moving the June 12, Fairfax, VA trip to Saturday the 11th instead.Because everyone was anxious to gorge themselves on yummy food the board meeting was adjourned.

*** Regular Monthly Meeting ***

President Donna Bender called the meeting to order.
Treasurer’s Report:
Ron Peterson, Treasurer, reports the following amounts for April:  income of $3,742.00 expenses of $2,844.65 and an available checkbook balance of $1,786.81.

The club would like to welcome Yvonne May! Wayne Pappart has gone diving with her and was more than happy to vouch for her.

OLD BUSINESS
Fund Raiser money is due to John Augustine by May 23. Any tickets that have been paid for are not turned in will not be honored so please be sure to get your tickets in!!
Dues are due by July 7tht. In order to participate in the treasure dive on the 17th your dues must be paid by the 1st. Dues for membership are $24/year for first member of household, $16 for second member and $8 for each consecutive member.
Nominations were held for club officers.  The following members were nominated:  President – John Augustine; Vice President – Greg Lilly and Chuck Zupon; Treasurer - Donna Sabol; Secretary – Joe Gordon and Gordon, Joe.

NEW BUSINESS
Please make a note: The July 7th meeting will not be held at Penn Gables!! There is a family wedding and they are closing the restaurant down for the week. The meeting will be held at the Cottage Inn (right beside Penn Gables).  A few of us are eating dinner before the meeting (about 6pm);  all are welcome to join.
Joe Gordon is working out the details of the Erie project. He is coordinating with our dive club for volunteers to assist with mapping and tagging new wrecks in Lake Erie. If anyone is interested please contact Joe.
Quarry clean-up time has approached again. In the past the club has bought shale and spread it around the road and parking lot. Judy has expressed an interest in leaving a pile instead of spreading it. We will find out if that is what she wants us to do, if not shale will be spread in the parking lot.

If you are interested in going on the Kingston, Ontario trip with Clyde Mighells, Sept, 9-11, a $100 deposit is due ASAP to hold a spot. RESERVATIONS ARE LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE!!
Changing the June 12th Millbrook quarry, trip to the 11th was approved by the club. Admission is $20 at the gate, but $10 if paid ahead of time. Money is due by the June meeting. Any questions, please contact John Augustine.
Denny Beecher is planning the August trip. Plans are tentatively set for Lockhaven on Aug. 27. The dive will be in the Susquehanna river, under a bridge, it’s shallow, clear, warm water. The location can be changed; Mt. Storm is a possibility as well. Any questions, please contact Denny.
There are checkout dives June 4 & 5. Check out chums will be Dan & Diane Turcovsky and Laura Butler
The club approved a motion to send Judy a check and card to show our appreciation of allowing us to use the quarry.
A volunteer for a presentation for the August meeting is needed!! There are clever minds out there with stories to share, I can feel it!!
Sue Morra will be giving a presentation on coral reef ecology at the July meeting.
We will be having a swap meet at the June meeting. Please bring anything you are interested in selling. This is a good opportunity to get some good deals on equipment for any divers who need something new.
Ron gave a presentation on the benefits, and cost of doubles.

UPCOMING EVENTS/TRIPS:
May 4 & 5 – Check Out Dives
The 9th Annual Make-A-Wish Treasure Hunt sponsored by D & R Divers will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Parker Dam State Park.
Registration fee is $25 before April 15 and each diver will receive a free T-shirt.   After April 15, the registration fee is $30 and divers do not receive a t-shirt.
May 17, 2005, Quarry clean-up, 7:00 p.m.
May 27, 2005, Every Other Friday Night Dive
May 28, 2005, Memorial Day dive, 1:00 p.m.
June 10 & 24, Every Other Friday Night Dive
Morehead City trip with Jim Smith and Diver Down - June 23 - 27, 2005.  This is limited to 18 people.  14 people had signed up as of the date of the club meeting.  The trip has been opened to other divers. All money owed for the trip should be paid by April 25. The cost of the diving is $270.  This does not include accommodations.
July 8 & 22, 2005, Every Other Friday Night Dive
July 12, 2005, Quarry clean-up
July 15-17, Treasure dive weekend, starting with the erection party on the 15, open diving on the 16th and the treasure dive on the 17th.
August 5, 2005, Every Other Friday Night Dive
August 27, 2005, Susquehanna River in Lockhaven
Thousand Island Trip, September 9 – 11, 2005, Kingston, Ontario with Clyde Mighells
$100 deposit due as soon as possible to hold your spot.  The final payment is due at the August meeting.  Reservations are limited to ten people.  The itinerary is as follows:
Friday evening:  Arrive at Alexander Henry, Coast Guard Cutter B& B, Night shore dive under the Alexander Henry Saturday:  Awake to breakfast aboard ship, Two boats pick up divers at Alexander Henry, Two tank dive to Wolfe Islander II & KPH, Return to ship, rest of the day and meals on your own Sunday:  Awake to breakfast aboard ship, two boats pick up divers at Alexander Henry, Two tank dive to Marsh & Aloha and Effie Mae, depart for home. Cost:  Diving (without tip) $120 for all four boat dives  $12 for nitrox refills and $6 for air (Saturday night tanks will be refilled), $35 per night per person  B & B (2 people per room, each room has two bunks) $15 tank rental Nitrox, $10 tank rental air

Summer Dive Trips:
There is a trip planned to Millbrook Quarry in Fairfax, Va on Sunday, June 11, 2005. Cost for the dive is $20 per person.  See John Augustine for details.
Denny Beecher is planning a trip to Lockhaven August 27, 2005.

TRIP/DIVE REPORTS :
The 1st annual spring dive was a wet party! The conditions were wet above and below the water.

The daybook winner was Wayne Pappart.  He was not present.
Sue Morra won the door prize.  She won a Z knife.
