The 1000 island trip is full.
We discussed Mike Miller’s offer to help mow the quarry. We suggested he mow the middle of June, August, and October of each year.
*** Regular Monthly Meeting ***
This months meeting at Penn Gables is being held one day late: the restaurant was closed for vacation. The meting started at about 7:40pm on Friday July 7, 2006.
First item was a sad one: Bob Maurer passed away early Monday morning, July 3, 2006. John Augustine read a poem by Angelo Patri: “He lives on in your life and in the lives of all others that knew him”. John further spoke: “Without Bob’s vision of a dive shop, my friends at Glendale (Blair Packer and Tim Lautiro) wouldn’t have been able to tell me where to get trained and I wouldn’t have had the wonderful dive experiences of the past 11 years and I would not have met the close friends I’ve met here at Laurel Divers. We have often remarked that we wait until its too late to thank someone. That would be my case now, but thanks Bob.” Donna Bender, Bert Sharbaugh, and Paul Brawley also made additional comments.
Treasurers report: Ron Peterson is temporary treasure in Donna Sabol’s absence. Donna will give a report at the next meeting.
New members: Joy Kelly, Mike and Stacy Noll. Also, a reminder of last months new members: Elizabeth Hewey and Lisa Rich. We had a guest: Dave Latterner.
Old Business
The 1000 islands trip is full
MTO Fundraiser is complete.
New Business
Final Officer Nominations: President, John Augustine. Vice President, Shari Mullen. Secretary: Ron Peterson. Treasurer, Donna Sabol. Because there is only one person for each office, a verbal vote was taken. It was unanimous to elect all the officers mentioned above.
It was suggested by Donna Bender, and voted by all, that the treasure dive would be renamed to “Bob Maurer Memorial Treasure Dive”.

The next board meeting will be July 26, 2006, 7:30pm at Ron Peterson’s house.
